Our Garden Meetings

Meetings in the garden
We meet on the third Wednesday of the month in a different private garden to enjoy beautiful green spaces together. Our gatherings are relaxed, friendly, and full of chat about garden design, plants, and the joys (and challenges!) of gardening. Of course, no meeting is complete without a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Membership is just $15 a year (which also covers insurance). If you'd like more details, contact us now, we’d be delighted to welcome you into our wonderful gardening club.
Grow your skills
Join our hands-on workshops and learn practical techniques to take your gardening skills further! Whether you’re a beginner or refining your green thumb, our sessions offer tips, tricks, and inspiration from expert guest speakers. Don’t miss out — register your interest in upcoming workshops today!
Step into secret gardens
Our members-only day trips are a much-loved highlight, giving us the chance to explore some of the region’s most beautiful and inspiring private gardens. Getting there is part of the fun too — whether you carpool or join the community bus for just $10. We always make time for a relaxed BYO lunch, with plenty of laughter, conversation, and garden inspiration to share along the way!

Winter's Jewel: Growing Hellebores
Hellebores, or winter roses, bring colour to the garden from late winter into spring. These hardy perennials grow about 45cm tall with a 60cm spread and thrive in the ground or roomy pots. Plant them 60cm apart, watch for aphids in spring, and cut back old foliage in autumn as new growth appears. A light mulch in spring keeps them happy, and removing spent flowers helps prevent overcrowding from seedlings.
